Photographer Dirk Buwalda has been capturing unique moments in dance with his camera at the Nederlands Dans Theater since 1992. He followed the dancers during their many rehearsals and performances. The resulting book is about hard work, about drama and beauty, about pain and the struggle against gravity. It is about the work of some of the best dancers in the world. In moves, Buwalda captures the essence of motion in the still image.
